Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, all Pro-Tent folding tents are 100 percent waterproof. Our fabrics have a water column rating of 10,000 mm, which makes them suitable for outdoor use. However, a folding tent labeled as “water-repellent” should not be used in the rain.

Yes, all Pro‑Tent fabrics offer UV protection of more than 98 percent, providing excellent protection against harmful UV rays. The folding tent fabrics are rated UPF 50+. Specifically, this means that less than one-fiftieth of UV radiation can penetrate Pro‑Tent fabrics.

Dark Pro‑Tent fabrics even offer 99.9 percent UV protection. This means that only one-thousandth of UV radiation can penetrate the tent fabrics. Additional side walls can provide protection against UV radiation coming in from the sides.

Pro-Tent offers 12 standard sizes ranging from 1.5 x 1.5 to 8 x 4 m. These include classic sizes such as 3 x 3 m and 4 x 4 m. But that’s not all, of course: Custom sizes are also available upon request.

Our folding pavilions can be connected to one another with ease. This is particularly simple with our 10-kilogram floor panels featuring an automatic snap-in mechanism. Useful accessories, such as connecting clips or rain gutters, are available from Pro‑Tent.

The number of people that can fit under a folding tent depends on the floor area of each individual tent as well as the total area. For standing room, allow approximately 0.5 m² per person. For simple row seating, each person needs about 0.7 m². You should allow up to 1.2 m² per guest if your guests are seated at tables and being served.

The weight and packed size of our tents depend on which size and type of pop-up tent you choose. We’d be happy to assist you personally with this question.

Thanks to their special materials and sturdy construction, our folding tents are generally suitable for outdoor use.

Legal fire safety regulations for indoor use can vary depending on the event organizer and country. Thanks to their B1 certification, Pro‑Tent’s folding tents generally meet all requirements and are therefore suitable for use as trade show tents, for example.

Professional folding tents have a wide variety of uses. They are particularly common in the following areas or for the following purposes:

Our folding tents can be customized in a variety of ways. We can adjust the following elements to your specifications at no extra charge or for a small fee:

  • Size of the folding tent
  • Color of the aluminum frame
  • Color of the side walls and roof
  • Color of the fabric seams
  • Printing on the side walls and roof

And that’s just a small selection of our options— contact us.

The maximum size of a folding tent that we manufacture is 8 x 4 m (32 m²). We can only guarantee that our tents will stand 100% securely up to this size. However, you still have the option to cover larger areas by connecting multiple tents together. This is particularly easy and secure using our weight plates and connecting clamps. As a general rule: For large tents and connected tents, it is essential to secure them with the professional guy line set.

The MODUL 4000 and Pro-Tent 5000 professional folding tent systems feature the omega profile with system grooves. This system allows for the use of cross-connectors, interior cabins, and various accessories. It has 16 folded edges.

The Pro-Tent 2000 is the tried-and-true classic for small budgets. Compared to the other systems, it is equipped with a square profile.

Setup and Transport

With a little practice and the right technique, a single person can set up and take down smaller folding tents. However, it’s especially quick and easy with two people. Setting up and taking down large folding tents requires two people.

Thanks to the practical scissor system and the fact that the folding tent roof is already attached to the frame, setting up our folding pavilions is particularly easy. All steps are clearly explained in the included instructions and can also be viewed in our setup video.

It goes up especially quickly with two people. However, Pro-Tent folding tents can also be set up by a single person.

Our folding tents are designed so that they can generally be set up and taken down without tools.

Thanks to their convenient packed dimensions, most Pro-Tent folding tents fit in a standard passenger car. We’d be happy to provide you with detailed information about the packed dimensions of our various models in a personal conversation. Our folding tents also come with a practical carrying bag featuring extra-quiet wheels.

Quality and Materials

Only high-quality materials are used in the manufacture of Pro-Tent folding tents, ensuring maximum stability. For example, the frame is made of aluminum, which is particularly lightweight and thus contributes to the tent’s low overall weight.

The side walls and roof of our folding tents are made of tear-resistant polyester fabric with a PU coating on one side. All fabrics are UV-stabilized, dimensionally stable when wet, flame-retardant (B1), and 100 percent waterproof.

Aluminum has many advantages over steel in the construction of folding tents. For one thing, the material is significantly lighter, making the entire folding tent structure lighter; for another, it doesn’t rust. This is just one of many reasons for the durability of our folding tents.

If you take proper care of it and handle it with care, a Pro-Tent folding tent frame can last almost forever. Many of the first Pro-Tent folding tent frames are still in use even after 30 years. Depending on usage and maintenance, the fabric components (roof and side walls) generally last between 5 and 15 years.

To put it simply, the answer is: Quality comes at a price. It starts with the materials used. For example, aluminum—which is used in most brand-name folding tents—is stronger than steel. The fabrics also differ significantly. While many budget models are no longer “waterproof” after just one season, the tear-resistant, UV-stabilized fabrics of Pro-Tent folding tents remain watertight even after years of use. Plastic components such as corner connectors and joints—which are constantly subjected to high stress in a folding structure—are reinforced with fiberglass at Pro-Tent, making them extremely sturdy and exceptionally durable. In many cases, you can tell whether a tent is truly high-quality right after the first outdoor season. Cheap imports usually don’t survive the first year after being set up and taken down multiple times.

Pro-Tent folding tent and trade show booth systems are high-quality, durable brand-name products. However, should a repair be necessary, in most cases you can fix our systems yourself in just a few simple steps. To help you with this, we offer a spare parts service, repair instructions for each model, and telephone repair support. A repair kit is available for damaged fabric, consisting of liquid plastic and fabric in the same color as the roof or fabric wall. If you need help with the repair, our staff will be happy to assist you. In this case, please simply contact our service number at +41 (0)55 220 28 00.

Do not hang heavy objects (e.g., clothes racks) from the roof rails. You can prevent excessive strain from snow and water bags by properly tensioning the roofs during setup. Use stabilizing weights in windy conditions, and the Pro Tensioning Set in stronger winds. If a storm hits, fold up the tent.

Safety and Stability

When used outdoors, it’s important to secure folding tents properly. The matching, stackable weight plates and the Pro-Tent guy line set provide the ideal solution for securing them.

If it is properly anchored, a folding tent will theoretically remain standing up to wind force 8. Damage is likely in stronger winds. In any case, organizers of outdoor events should keep an eye on the weather conditions. For safety reasons, it is recommended to take down the folding tent in a timely manner.

Pro-Tent’s folding tents are suitable for outdoor use all year round. They are sturdy enough to withstand rain and wind. However, for safety reasons, the folding tent should be taken down in stormy weather.

Safety is our top priority in the development of our products. That is why we work exclusively with fabrics that are flame-retardant (difficult to ignite) and B1-certified.

Side Walls and Folding Tent Roofs

Pro-Tent offers a wide variety of side panels: standard walls, walls with panoramic windows, various types of walls with a door, half-height side walls, and so on. And, of course, we also offer custom-made and special-order roofs and walls.

With the Pro-Tent MODUL4000 and the Pro-Tent 5000, the side walls are inserted into a groove using a piping system. This looks perfect and provides a windproof and privacy-sealed finish. On the Pro-Tent 2000, the side walls are attached in the conventional manner using Velcro strips. This attachment method is also available as an option on the Pro-Tent MODUL 4000 and Pro-Tent 5000 models.

The roofs and side walls of Pro-Tent tents can be easily cleaned at any textile laundry. Important: The fabrics must be washed at a maximum temperature of 30 °C to prevent damage to the water-repellent polyurethane coating.

As standard, we use a very high-quality, tear-resistant 250-denier polyester fabric.

Generally speaking, the quality of the fabric has little to do with the fineness of the thread. Our 250-denier fabric is high quality and, thanks to its light weight, is ideal for a folding tent. The 250-denier fabric also looks sleeker and more elegant than the thicker version. Nevertheless, we also offer 500-denier fabric in all fabric colors.

As a manufacturer with our own printing and sewing facilities, we are able to customize roofs and side walls to fit third-party frames as well. Please contact us so we can review your request.

Accessories and Equipment

There are actually several counter options available for Pro-Tent folding tents: the Orchid Counter, the Aluminum Folding Counter, and the Desk Module. All models can be set up and taken down in just a few simple steps and, just like the side walls and roof, can be printed on.

The best promotional item is your folding tent itself, because you can have the roof and side walls printed exactly as you wish and in your corporate design. In addition, you’ll receive a variety of promotional items, such as flags, banners, etc.

For the MODUL 4000 and 5000 models, the practical carrying case is included with the purchase.

Of course, you can also equip your folding tent for use on cold and dark fall and winter days. You can get light and warmth from our lighting systems and radiant heaters.

The number of radiant heaters you need depends on the size of your folding tent and whether the side walls are attached or not. Since one radiant heater covers about 10 to 16 square meters, one heater is usually sufficient for a 3 x 3 m folding tent. For a 4.5 x 3 m folding tent, we recommend two heaters to ensure optimal warmth throughout the entire space.

The number of LED spotlights you need to light your pavilion depends on its size. Allow for one or two spotlights per 10 square meters of floor space—depending on how brightly you want the tent to be lit.

Design and Printing

Yes, we print and assemble the tents in our own printing and sewing facilities. Thanks to the ability to print over the entire surface of the side walls and roof, you can let your imagination run wild when it comes to design.

Our in-house print shop offers three different printing methods: sublimation printing, thermal transfer printing, and screen printing. We’d be happy to advise you on the options and benefits.

All folding tent canopies and side panels printed by Pro-Tent are weather-resistant and therefore suitable for outdoor use.

When designing the side walls and the roof, various factors—such as resolution and color space—must be taken into account (depending on the selected printing method). You can find an overview of the specifications in our data sheets on sublimation printing, thermal transfer printing, and screen printing. If you have any further questions, our graphics department will be happy to assist you.
