Go Green: Professional Folding Tents as a Sustainable Solution
Celebrate and promote sustainably—with durable folding tents from Pro-Tent
A sustainable lifestyle and the responsible production of goods are not just a trend, but a necessity in light of rising global environmental pressures. Products that are manufactured sustainably and responsibly may seem expensive at first glance. But they generally offer added value that pays off for years after purchase. This means that, in the long run, high-quality purchases often save money—but above all, they help prevent waste. That’s why Pro‑Tent is committed to producing high-quality folding tents that, with proper care, will last for many years—premium Swiss-made products that, thanks to their quality, are particularly sustainable and good for the environment.
Cheap products don’t even last a summer
Cheap folding tents and knockoffs from China are mass-produced, and manufacturers usually cut corners on materials during production. That explains the low price. The result: Many cheap products last only one summer—or not even that long—because the quality isn’t up to par, especially with frequent use. So anyone who buys cheap goods risks having to buy a new product before long. This creates unnecessary and avoidable waste—and, in some cases, over and over again for years on end. Added to this are the precarious working conditions of the people who have to manufacture these products.
A lack of replacement parts exacerbates the problem
Spare parts are also sometimes unavailable for low-cost items. So if one part of the folding tent breaks, the entire tent must be discarded. In this regard as well, Pro‑Tent takes a different, sustainable approach: Thanks to designed weak points and the ability to purchase replacement parts even years after the initial purchase, the durability of every tent is increased and waste is avoided. This is good for the environment—and for our customers’ wallets.
High-Quality Materials for a Long Service Life
We use aluminum in the manufacture of our folding tent frames. Unlike steel, it does not rust. The additional high-quality anodizing also makes our profiles particularly stable, robust, and scratch-resistant. Anodized aluminum already has a long service life, which is further extended with proper care. Furthermore, aluminum can be 100 percent recycled at the end of its useful life. At Pro‑Tent, side walls and roofs are also made from tear-resistant polyester fabric with a single-sided PU coating, which can be cleaned and reused time and again, even after heavy soiling. Pro‑Tent deliberately uses PU instead of PVC, as this coating option is more environmentally friendly.
What Else We Do for Climate Protection
Environmental protection doesn’t stop at waste prevention. Rather, a company’s overall conduct is what matters. At Pro-Tent, environmental protection is a top priority. To that end, even during the development of new products, we consider how they can be manufactured in the most resource-efficient way possible—without, of course, compromising the quality of our products. Today, we use state-of-the-art measurement and testing methods in this process. As a result, our products have a very good carbon footprint compared to similar products. We also always strive to keep transportation routes as short and efficient as possible.
We also take social responsibility seriously. We enforce the highest standards at our own production and manufacturing facilities in Europe and Switzerland. We know our suppliers personally and regularly inspect conditions on-site.
