The Pro-Tent folding frame—thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail

Virtually unrivaled thanks to its sophisticated profile

Pro-Tent’s success story began about 35 years ago, when the company’s founder developed and launched the first aluminum folding frame in Europe. Not only did customers quickly show interest in this promising concept, but other entrepreneurs also recognized the product’s potential. And so, over the next three decades, the product was copied hundreds of times. Today, there is a wealth of suppliers offering folding frames and folding tents. However, hardly any of the competitors stand out for having made the effort to further develop their products in recent years. Instead, a price war broke out at the expense of the products’ quality and durability.

Products Are Continuously Refined

Pro‑Tent, however, did not join this battle; instead, it remained true to its mission of developing the perfect folding tent. Our products have been continuously refined and enhanced—for example, with the addition of a robust gable spring and lighter, more flexible scissor joints for the roof profiles. Patents also protected these new inventions, thereby securing our competitive edge. Thanks to our innovative spirit, many of our products still offer compelling unique selling points and advantages over competing products in terms of quality, durability, usability, and features.

The Right Material Sets the Professional Folding Tent Apart from the Rest

Above all, the use of suitable materials is what makes Pro‑Tent’s professional folding pavilions what they are today. For example, a few years ago we began using glass-fiber-reinforced plastic connectors instead of metal connectors. They are exceptionally lightweight: High-quality plastics weigh only one-third as much as die-cast parts, which is why Pro‑Tent folding tents weigh significantly less than conventional folding tents—while offering the same stability. Especially when the tent is frequently set up and taken down or regularly transported, its low weight is an unbeatable selling point.

Use of Modern Software for Greater Safety

Optimizing the material was only the first step toward greater stability and safety. Today, modern CAD software calculates the load conditions a folding frame will experience under severe conditions. This technology makes it possible to optimally match the plastic connectors to the aluminum profiles and to determine predetermined breaking points. The primary goal of the development is to prevent injury to people in the event of excessive stress on the folding tent structure. Another key objective is to minimize damage to the tent as much as possible.

One System for Two Purposes

Over time, the desire grew within Pro-Tent to develop, in addition to its existing product portfolio, a folding frame that could be used both as an outdoor folding tent and as a trade show construction system. The idea was that a system suitable for both indoor and outdoor use would offer customers dual benefits. At the same time, if developed correctly, this system could solve another problem: With conventional folding tents, the side walls could not be neatly attached to the support legs using Velcro straps. This resulted in unsightly gaps that also allowed wind to pass through.

The Birth of the MODUL 4000

The development department created an innovative system profile that solved all these problems. Thanks to its design featuring 16 folds, the Pro-Tent omega profile not only ensures tremendous stability but also features a groove system that allows for the clean insertion of fabric side walls or solid panels and serves as an anchor point for various accessories. The Pro-Tent MODUL 4000 was born and was awarded a gold medal at an inventors’ fair. The Pro-Tent 5000 model, developed at a later date, also utilizes this innovative system profile.

A Wide Range of Accessories as a Unique Selling Point

This innovative system profile was the starting point for extensive development, as it laid the foundation for the wide range of unique accessories available today for the MODUL 4000 and the Pro-Tent 5000. Exhibition walls and shelves create customizable sales areas. With solid panels and additional support legs, entire rooms can even be created inside the folding tent. Today, our MODUL 4000 and Pro-Tent 5000 are state-of-the-art. No other folding tent system offers so many expansion and design options.

High Standards in Manufacturing, Too

For us, high quality standards don’t end with development—they also apply to the manufacturing process. That’s why all our folding tents are manufactured in Switzerland. This allows us to guarantee top-quality workmanship and easily accommodate individual customer requests. Pro-Tent loves and lives for folding tents. Our top models are proof of that.
